HELLO, [INSERT NAME HERE]. > The last thing you remember is falling asleep in an old row house that has belonged to your grandparents for over forty years. It hasn't been externally renovated in over a century, but you're all right with that kind of thing. It's new. You like new.
> You open your eyes. You're in a dimly lit, dark blue room with a glass skylight looking up at the stars. It's... peaceful. You're seated in a dark blue chair made of crushed velvet.
> This is a dream. You realize this immediately- it's some sort of a lucid dream. It's a relaxing feeling, but everything gives off a drowsy sense of unreality. It would be weirder if you sat back to contemplate.
> Another figure in in the room. You can't really discern what they look like... their body is covered in thick clothing and they're seated on a chair exactly like yours. Next to them is a desk with a large mechanism above it. A telescope, maybe? What a weird dream- things like this usually don't have much detail.
The figure shifted, their chest rising and falling in time with their breath. Their face remained expressionless. "Greetings, new guest. My apologies for the rude awakening." they said, their voice reflecting that of a mature woman. "I assure you that you're fast asleep in your home... don't worry, all I'm here to do is speak to you. Would your name be too much to ask?" @zahmby

THERE IS A THIN LINE between what is good and what is evil I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable A day had barely passed by since Taichi moved to Inaba from Tokyo to live with his grandparents. The air there was different compared to the bustling city. It felt fresh and quaint which helped him adjust more easily to his new surroundings. While his grandparents had lived in Inaba for over forty years now, this was the first time that Taichi had ever gone to visit them in their home town; though his visit would be more of an extended stay rather than a visit. Having spent most of his afternoon unpacking bags and boxes, Taichi felt completely exhausted, so exhausted that he easily drifted asleep when the sun had finally set. In his slumber, Taichi could hear a voice call out to him. He opened his eyes slowly to find himself in a dimly lit room. The atmosphere felt peculiar yet at the same time familiar. This was a dream... right? He didn't bother to linger longer on his question and sat back against the chair he found himself on. Across from him was another person whose figure was masked by the darkness. He could at least tell that he was looking at a woman. She shifted slightly enough for the dim light to cast over her face. Taichi couldn't help but stare back at her. There was something that drew his eyes to her, perhaps it was her lack of expressions or perhaps it was her mysterious beauty that made her seem more like a porcelain doll rather than a person. Slowly, she spoke out to him in a formal manner, assuring him that he was fast asleep in the real world. He continued to stare back at her, sharing an almost similar lack in emotions. "Would your name be too much to ask?" Taichi held his tongue in silence for a few seconds before finally speaking out to her. "Imamura, Taichi." he answered simply. MADE BY VEL OF GS + WW

> REGISTRY COMPLETE. The figure smiled softly from beneath the dark hood. "That's a nice name..." she mused aloud, before her expression grew serious once again. "Regardless, I am humbled to have a guest of your standing in the room with me. It's quite exciting, if I'm being frank..." she said, before her expression suddenly seemed to turn a little frantic. "I should get on to the purpose of this visit." she stated, before laying out a card deck on the table. With a single swipe, she lays them out effortlessly in a row- 21 individual cards. > Is this a game of some kind?"You... you don't believe in fortune telling, is that right? Regardless, I'm going to ask you to choose four different cards out of this array." she said, with the gentle force of a doctor giving their patient instructions as to utilize a medication. "The truth is, I read fortunes. Some call me a clairvoyant, others... do indeed call me a hack." she admitted. "Anyway, be sure to choose them one at a time individually, and don't flip any of them over just yet." she advised, before continuing. "I brought you out here for a great purpose... I was told to be the one to guide you along. > Before you do what she asks of you...
> What's your name? > What do you really look like? > ... Great purpose?
