{ } Oh? How interesting. It seemed Makoto did know Satori. But one had to admire how much Makoto was trying, she was even going deep into detail about some pretty personal stuff. With this kind of luck there was no way Inari could forgo listening to every single little detail. So it seemed that this would be one of those shoujo manga scenarios where the popular girl who aced things was the first to go missing. It would have been the same if she were a delinquent with a serious problem. But knowing that she was good at soccer gave Inari a good idea that some of the former soccer members of the middle school might know more if she didn't get enough here. What was worrying is how the story seemed to turn into something that could lead to an ominous end. A nice girl who suddenly went quiet. A close friend said the she shut herself off from the world. Add that to the dropping grades, quitting the clubs... Normally that would sound like an ordinary depression. It was that last bit about her changing her cell phone is what told Inari is wasn't a family problem. Putting the pieces together there could have been a few different reasons. One, the most obvious; she must have had a stalker of some kind. That would explain the changing of phones and if she was a soft-willed person, which it sort of did; it would also explain why she locked people out. Paranoia. Couple that with a mental exhaustion and you have a depression that could lead to a 'exhaustion from life'. It seemed to happen quite a bit with the less socially adept. But that didn't explain everything... If it was just a stalker, why didn't she report anything? Was it someone she knew? Blackmail? Maybe somehow this stalker was able to get rid of the evidence so that when she did try to seek help, it would only seem like she's crazy and paranoid. Not exactly something that would help the situation... Her thoughts were cut off suddenly by Makoto's realization that she was indeed asking quite a few questions that would normally be none of her business. An aloof face replaced her thinking one. "Why..? Ah- I forgot to tell you why I was asking didn't I?" A short, hollow chuckle left her. "My brother's an investigator here and knowing him, he's already learned about this case. Actually he might have barged his way onto it... Anyway, he'll probably be grilling me about it the moment school ends and if I give him nothing than something annoying might happen. He gets pretty protective when things happen to school girl y'know? Thinks something similar might happen to me. Such a worrywart." While it wasn't the complete truth, there was enough truth in there that it could be considered a fact. After giving what she felt was a decent explanation, the girl watched as the shyer lass peeked around before asking her not to share the things that were just given to her. Inari gave the girl a reassuring smile, "No worries Makoto-san. I won't tell anyone since you've asked me not to, well minus my bro; but otherwise I owe you quite a bit for sharing with me." A twirl to signify her 'noble promise', then a pat on the most likely younger girl's head. Returning to a casual stance, the girl tilted her head at a thought. "Besides I don't think I want to share anything with anyone who could work with or be connected to that creeper teacher." A visible shudder. >>Choice: C - My lips are sealed.MADE BY VEL OF GS

> CHARM + .1! > Makoto looks sort of relieved upon hearing the explanation, her eyebrows drooping as she gives a small smile."Phew... for a moment there, I thought that you were some plainclothes investigator posing as a student or something, like in the movies. Jeez..." She took a heavy breath, before giving a more hearty smile. "It's good to know your brother has the best of intents. I hope that the information that I provided can be helpful to him." she said, > Pat pat.She blushed a little, flustered. "I-I'm not a dog, I'm your classmate..." she murmured, but she made no attempt to back away. > Mention "creeper teacher"."Oh, so you're stuck with Mr. Kaneshiro? Ouch... I've heard from older friends that his courses are much tougher than any other teacher who instructs our grade." she said. "He watches students like eagles, and isn't afraid to dock a lot of points from your average if you forget the answers to questions real often and stuff. I might not be able to help you with that, I've been awful at math since grade school..." she admitted. "Good luck. I'm sure your other teachers will be better." > Who do you have for your classes? > Planning to join a club? > Anything else weird in this school that I should probably know? > Kthxbye!@tsuki

{ } Investigator..? Inari had to laugh at that. The sound coming out as a soft chuckle, "If that were the case I hope I'd get paid double for having to sit through classes." She'd admit that would be something pretty interesting if that were the case, pity on any person student or fake student; who has to go through math monster's class. The blush on the other hand was quite adorable, it pulled the little 'senpai' heart strings despite Inari no actually being a grade above her. But the girl didn't try to move away, she only reddened which only furthered to encourage the teen. The fact that she seemed to know exactly which teacher Inari had mentioned showed just how infamous that creeper was. There was a face of 'are you serious' toward the dark haired lass. "He's so popular, people know him without anyone even saying his name." She said sarcastically, a little sly grin flashing across her face for the briefest of seconds. "So far the two others I have been relatively decent." A more positive reply. It was only after they reached into a normal conversation that Inari remembered the boy Makoto had been originally speaking to, her gaze shifted toward before toward the sky in a thoughtful pose. Returning to the shy girl, Inari flicked a thumb toward where the boy sat happily in the sunlight. "I didn't disturb you guys too bad did I? It can get pretty hard to find places to be alone here." Inari smiled as if she suggesting something, "I'm still gonna bother you guys though." Yeah, this pale head idiot didn't want to run back down stairs by herself only to sit in a classroom where people would no doubt be staring. She had the rest of the day for that. Instead she motioned for the girl to follow her as she took a place diagonal of the still nameless guy. "Going by how close you two must be I'm sure you already know my name but I'll tell you anyway. Hi - I'm Mikogami, Inari. Nice to meetcha." She looked between the two of them, "So is there anything else I should worry about in this school? Minus Mr. Creeper." Whether it was just anymore rumors or warning about teachers, or even the 'seven wonders' of the school - anything to pass the time would be good to think on through the rest of her day. > so, do you come here often? > The taller guy tips his hat towards you and winks. While everything seems pretty nice on the surface, you feel a deep-rooted discontent that you somehow seems to connect back to the fact that you're a woman."Oh, you didn't bother us~. In fact, to me, you're being quite the opposite of a bother." > ... Said feeling has intensified. He's one of those types.
"This is Masaru Takada. Uh... but he's just Taka-senpai to me. He's older than me by two years, but we've been friends since grade school." explained Makoto. "He comes on a little thick, so just slap him if it makes you feel better. He's does have a point, though- you're not a nuisance or anything." Takada bit his lip in a mock-hurt expression. "Makoto-kun, I'm wounded..." > Makoto rolls her eyes, before pointing over to him and making a face behind his back. At least they're in good humor about it. > Ask about other strange things."Other than Kaneshiro? Well... not really. This is Inaba we're talking about. Tourist attractions are few, everyone goes away for college... it's just small-town syndrome at its worst. People make up bad urban legends and stuff just to make school a little more exciting." said Makoto, smiling. "No worries." @tsuki

{ } ...How to react..? Inari was puzzling through that with every single micro-movement this Masaru Takada made after realizing just what kind of guy he was. 'Note to self: Fedora equals... weird.' Yes that was a good word for it. There were others but those ones weren't so nice nor did they have all their criteria matched up. Inari didn't think she could enjoy Makoto's company anymore than at that moment. Her reaction wasn't quite so blush filled but the way they interacted was something of easy-ness. It was typical for friends since elementary to be able to toy with each other like that. A muffled giggle left her at the face Makoto gave her friend. "I'll make sure to take your advice then." she chimed in, listening to what other strange things the school had. The result however was not so interesting, not even a seven wonders myth about the school. One finger scratched at her cheek, "Poor Inaba. Has nothing but ominous things for sell." She shrugged. It was worth the try at least. Aside from that the girl didn't know what else to talk about. She got what she wanted and the extra turned out to be something useless. She had to remember the lines of what other groups would talk about. It would be in poor taste to just up and leave right away, even she knew that. Idly the girl looked away from the group, toward the fencing that protected the roof. From there she could tell just how small Inaba really was, just as Makoto described. Kind of sad to be realizing this after living here for four years or so. It was true there was little excitement here... A light bulb flashed in the girl's brain. "Say, what clubs are you guys in? Gonna join any?" There we go. Most kids who started the new year often talked about this. It was a prime subject next to classes. See? Inari paid attention to the idle chatter of the students around her. On the thought of clubs the girl couldn't help but wonder what she would do after school. She didn't bring her instrument with her and the only book she had on her wouldn't last her half a day... Other than getting some food she supposed she could just wander about, maybe find some new secret spots. If Inaba had one thing it was a lot of places to be alone. MADE BY VEL OF GS

> You had to ask. > Makoto shyly looks down at your feet, blushing just a little. She immediately shifts to her own feet."Uh, I'm... n-not really into the sort of--""Why, she's in the go-home club!" said Takada, gently elbowing his friend in the ribs. "Such a fragile flower is a little too introverted to take on a culture club, and... to be honest, she's got noodle arms. She has a long way to go before sports are an option."That only made the poor girl get even more flustered. "H-hey, it's not like you should be talking! You're only in Drama Club because you want to flirt with all the girls who joined!"He sighed, once again putting on the mock-injured tone. "Ah, this is a fact I cannot deny."> He winks at you. "By the by, would a cute lady such as yourself perhaps be interested in heading out tonight with--" THWAM!> It looks as if Makoto has given him a forceful forearm chop to his midsection, leaving him hunched over."... M-Merci..." Takada stuttered out, holding his waist."What was that about 'noodle arms'?" asked Makoto, an impish smile crossing her face. She turned back to Inari with a grin."Though, what you said about Inaba... you're not wrong. It's a small town with few attractions and maybe a couple of rickety tourist traps. Not sure about you, but I'm out of here once I head to college..." she admitted. "On the other hand, while I may not be in a club... I do know what's provided. Out of the sports clubs, you can choose either soccer or archery, since you're a girl. On the other hand, the open culture clubs include the symphonic band and the drama club... but if you've got some confidence, you could try out for the student council."@tsuki

{ } Makoto was the first to reply, her reaction back to that of a shy girl. Alas she was cut off by Takada who chimed in with his much more boisterous self. His description of the dark haired lass did manage to quirk a hidden smile on the girl before she witnessed the back and forth word battle between the two. Of course her description of fedora boy was far too realistic to be remotely far-fetched. Not to mention he admitted it. Boys... Inari caught his wink, an awkward return grin was the only thing she could muster. The poor thing was never good with these types unless she was ignoring them. It made sense to see him in the Drama Club with that sort of attitude though, it seemed many of the famous or those who thought of themselves as 'good-looking' had an inkling of such personalities. That thought process was distracted however by the sudden cut off of the Drama boy's words. It seems Makoto wasn't as 'noodle armed' as he thought. A "Whoa." left her, the little pale teen clapping for the would-be boxer. "I think that was the best whatchamacallit move I've seen from a clubless school girl." There was hint of a tease to her voice. So much for being the shy girl. Inari would remember her better with this anyway. She even managed to return back to basic conversation casually! It was truly amazing much was accepted within these social chains, these barriers that brought atmospheres of positive and negative. But it was best not to delve to deep into the modern norms, not at that moment. Makoto had picked up talking again, describing the clubs to her. Honestly the girl had absolutely no interest in the physical sports so that was out of the question immediately. Drama would have been interesting if she didn't already know Takada was in it and normally someone like her would have jumped at the chance to join the band. But the student council... now that was a scary thought. "Is that right." were the only words to leave her. There was a moment of pondering before her gaze shifted from the girl to the boy once more. Disregarding the clubs for now, a new thought came to mind. Before Drama Boy had been so humorously interrupted, it sounded like he was about to offer her a nighttime date. It could have easily been an empty offer, a casual quote from a long history of similar behavior. But Inari was willing to see what would happen if she accepted that little pretend date. "Hey, Takada-san." A little smile slipped across her lips, "Since its the first day back, your club wouldn't be up just yet would it?" If he asked her if she wanted to join, Inari would merely have shook her head. If he didn't then she would continue on. "I'll take you up on your offer. Where do you wanna meet?"MADE BY VEL OF GS

> Schedule a rendezvous? > Makoto smiles, looking sheepish once again. Takada's recovered, but it seems as if his pride has been cut down to size for the time at hand. The two are arm-in-arm- despite their differing ages and genders, they seem to share a very close friendship."Oh... uh, it was nothing. Just a trick for when people are being stupid." she explained simply, not caring to tell why she knew a technique like that. > Takada hears your offer. "Heh... uh, if you're still up for it after that? My club starts meeting next week, so sometime before that should be good. To tell you the truth, I have a lot of work to do at the coffee shop tonight. Maybe this weekend would be a good time?" asked Takada, a bead of sweat dripping off his brow as he realigned his hat.Makoto looked over to Inari. "For now, why not just spend a little more time up here? Classes don't start for a while longer... let's let off a little steam."> You spend some downtime with Makoto and Takada.
> The rest of the afternoon continues in a fairly normal manner. The other teachers and students you acquaint yourself with seem nice enough, but nothing seems particularly exciting or worrying. It seems as if lunch period will be the highlight of your day...

{ } She'd need to remember keeping Makoto around for Takada-deflation purposes. She worked like a charm despite her doe-like exterior. Maybe it was the familiar contrast that kept the two so close? Other than their long time together that was. Her reply was fairly amusing though, it drew up a curiosity as to why someone know those kinds of moves in the first place. Maybe she was a wrestling fan? Inari wouldn't doubt it, not with how eager she sounded to get out of this place. Fedora-boy caught the bait sure enough, actually setting up a decent calendar of when would be good. So he wasn't an ordinary playboy, or perhaps he was trying to regain his stature? Going by that bead that slipped off his brow, it could only be a fifty-fifty chance... Maybe. It was probably a reaction from pain really but one could dream even if there was nothing to dream about. Aside from the drama club starting time, the girl did take note of this 'coffee shop'. He worked did he? Well, what did you know; even the most unsuspecting of humanity can still rise up to support the bars of civilization. She gave the lad a nod before replying to Makoto with a simple, "That would be best. I need to relax before PE smashes me." Anyone could tell that Inari wasn't of the 'athletic group', though she wasn't particularly bad at it. Laziness? Yeah that was the problem. But she managed to get enough downtime with the duo for the remainder of their lunch break. The day went as an ordinary day usually went, minus the fact that she thought she was gonna die from starvation before school finally ended. One cannot imagine how tempting it was just to ditch school between the periods for some first day ramen. MADE BY VEL OF GS
